     Time To Celebrate: The Body Positive Beauty & Fashion Revolution Turns 40

             It’s time for a nationwide celebration of the Body Positive (BP) Beauty & Fashion Revolution. This revolution began in Chicago between January 1984 & September 1986. TV show host Oprah Winfrey began her meteoric rise to fame. Oprah debuted on A.M. Chicago on ABC’s WLS-TV on January 2, 1984.  The Oprah Winfrey Show debuted to an ABC national audience on September 8, 1986. The revolution’s impact has been felt across multiple battlefields/platforms: full-figured beauty, women’s plus-size clothing design & marketing, music, music videos, movies, television programs, dance, comedy, sports, fitness, mental health/eating disorders, health & fitness, Ecommerce, BP bloggers & social media.             

            How did Oprah’s show affect you? In September 1986, I was an MBA student at the Indiana University Kelley School Of Business in Bloomington. Oprah’s show electrified my lovely robust wife & her friends. Oprah never preached a BP Revolution. She lived the life of a robust woman. 67% of American adult women are robust. Oprah acquired millions of fans.          

            How did you feel when Oprah ran her 1994 marathon?   

             I would love to hear from all the Robust Goddesses who were involved in my 2006 & 2012 Philly photoshoots. I would love to hear from all the Robust Beauties who answered the Mike Lemon Casting Call in 2011. I would love to hear from all the Robust Beauties I interviewed at the Shoppes at Liberty Place. I would love to hear from all my Robust Models who worked at the Mayfair Knights Of Columbus Hall! 

             I would love to hear from all my Hoosier Robust Beauties from the Indiana U Kelley School Of Business. I would love to hear from my Owl Robust Beauties from the Temple U College Of Liberal Arts.  I would love to hear from my Orange Robust Beauties from the Syracuse U Maxwell School.  

             This has been an amazing 40 year journey for me.
